2015 Ford Transit 2.2L Diesel · DK65 ARZ

The roadworthiness of this vehicle is currently questionable following the most recent test result. On 29 January 2026 at 161,942 miles, the vehicle failed its MOT examination without specific defects recorded in the summary provided. This suggests a significant mechanical failure or a non-compliance with safety standards that prevented the vehicle from obtaining a valid certificate. Without a subsequent pass record following this failure, the maintenance trend cannot be classified as stable, indicating a potential unresolved issue. At 11 years old, the recorded mileage of 161,942 miles represents an average usage of approximately 14,722 miles per annum. This high mileage is consistent with heavy commercial use, which places considerable stress on the drivetrain, suspension components, and braking system. The failure in early 2026 indicates that the vehicle is reaching a stage where major components are likely nearing their service life. The lack of a detailed history leading to this mileage makes it difficult to determine if previous owners were performing preventative maintenance or merely reacting to MOT failures. A buyer must closely inspect the chassis for structural corrosion, particularly around the door arches and suspension mounting points, which are common failure areas on this generation of Transit. Given the high mileage and the recent failure, a thorough check of the suspension bushes, worn coil springs, and lateral links is essential. The braking system should also be evaluated for binding calipers or thin discs, as high-mileage commercial operation often leads to accelerated wear on these consumables.
