2012 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2L Petrol · DY12 ABZ

The vehicle presents a concerning maintenance profile characterized by a trend of worsening structural and mechanical neglect. While it passed its latest MOT in April 2026 at 116,354 miles, the failure just days prior reveals a significant backlog of safety-critical defects. The transition from a clean record in April 2024 to a multi-point failure in 2026 suggests a shift toward reactive-only maintenance rather than preventative care. The persistent presence of corrosion on the subframes remains a primary concern for the long-term integrity of the chassis. At 116,354 miles over 14 years, the Corsa averages approximately 8,300 miles per year, which is consistent with typical low-car usage. However, the mileage accumulation of nearly 15,000 miles between March 2024 and April 2026 coincides with a rapid decline in the vehicle's condition. The failure to address basic items such as exposed cords on rear tyres and an inoperative washer system during the 2026 test indicates that the previous owner ignored obvious wear and tear until they reached a point of failure. A buyer must prioritise a thorough physical inspection of the front and rear subframes. The record shows a dangerous progression from seriously weakened metal in 2024 to corroded but not yet weakened in 2026, suggesting the rust is active and likely to require expensive structural repairs in the near future. The suspension system also shows signs of fatigue, with a misting offside front shock absorber and a deteriorated anti-roll bar linkage. Furthermore, the recurring oil leak noted since at least 2025 requires a professional pressure test to determine if it is a minor gasket leak or a more significant engine seal failure.
