2003 Honda CB 600 F-3 0.6L Petrol · EF03 ABN

The vehicle passed its most recent MOT on 24 April 2026 with no defects recorded. A review of the previous tests from 2024 and 2023 confirms a consistently clean history with no failures or advisories. This indicates a stable maintenance trend and suggests that the motorcycle has been kept in a roadworthy condition, avoiding the typical cumulative defects often associated with vehicles of this age. With a recorded mileage of 32,843 miles over 23 years, the vehicle has averaged approximately 1,428 miles per year. This is considered very low for its age, implying the motorcycle has likely spent significant periods in storage or has been used only for occasional short trips. While this results in lower mechanical wear on the engine internals and drivetrain, low usage often introduces specific risks related to inactivity and the degradation of perishable components. Given the clean MOT record and low mileage, the buyer should focus on age-related deterioration rather than wear-and-tear. It is essential to inspect the tyres for sidewall cracking and perishing, as rubber hardens over time regardless of the remaining tread depth. The brake discs should be examined for surface corrosion, and the calipers must be checked for binding, which is a common occurrence when a vehicle stands for long periods. The health of the 12V battery should also be verified, as infrequent use often leads to premature cell failure. Furthermore, the buyer must ensure that maintenance has been carried out on a calendar basis rather than relying solely on mileage intervals. Brake fluid and engine coolant degrade chemically over time, and old fluid can lead to internal corrosion or reduced braking efficiency. Check the service book for evidence of regular oil changes and verify the condition of the drive chain for stiffness or surface rust. Finally, inspect the front fork seals for leaks, as rubber seals can dry out and fail once a long-dormant vehicle is returned to regular operation.
