2012 Ford S-MAX 2.0L Diesel · EJ12 ADX

The 2012 Ford S-Max presents a stable roadworthiness profile, with the most recent DVSA test on 16 January 2026 at 124,812 miles returning a pass and no defects recorded. Across the five consecutive annual examinations from 20 January 2022 to 16 January 2026, the vehicle cleared every test without advisory or failure, indicating a consistent maintenance trend that is neither worsening nor showing latent faults. This unbroken clean record suggests the previous keeper addressed any required items before each test date. Mileage accumulation aligns with typical use for a fourteen-year-old vehicle. The odometer advanced from 98,140 miles at the January 2022 test to 124,812 miles by January 2026, an average of roughly 6,668 miles per year across that span, slightly below the 8,915 miles per annum implied by the total lifetime figure. No abrupt jumps or standing gaps appear; each test falls within a twelve to thirteen month window. The supplied history is sparse beyond these entries yet wholly clean, offering no evidence of neglected consumables or deferred mechanical work. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of age-sensitive components that MOT tests may not flag until defective. The tester recorded no corrosion, suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs or binding calipers issues, but at 124,812 miles the original suspension arms and exhaust system warrant close visual checks for structural integrity and rust. Verify tyres and wiper blades as minor consumable wear, and confirm service history for cambelt interval given the engine variant. The unbroken clean pass record implies the previous keeper prioritised statutory compliance, yet it does not confirm proactive renewal of dampers or clutch at this mileage.
