2005 KTM 125 EXC 0.1L Petrol · FJ05 XBN

A history of intermittent mechanical issues and component wear characterizes this vehicle, though the most recent record from 2024-05-09 shows a pass with no defects. The testing trend shows a period of minor failures and advisories between 2020 and 2021, specifically regarding lighting and suspension components, before transitioning into two consecutive years of clean passes. This suggests that while specific wear items have required attention in the past, the current documented state of the vehicle has improved in terms of recorded compliance. The available data provides insufficient mileage information to establish an annual accumulation rate or to compare usage against the vehicle's age. Without recorded mileage figures to cross-reference against the testing dates, it is impossible to determine if the vehicle has been subject to heavy use or long periods of inactivity. This lack of data means the mechanical wear on internal engine components or consumables cannot be assessed through the lens of mileage-based degradation. Prospective buyers should pay particular attention to the rear suspension assembly, following the 2021 advisory regarding a worn rear suspension arm ball joint. During a test ride, it is essential to monitor for any unusual knocks, clunks, or lateral movement in the rear end when traversing uneven terrain or hitting bumps. Any play in the swingarm or linkage could indicate that the previously noted wear has progressed or that the component has not been adequately replaced. Lighting and visibility components should also be verified, noting the 2020 failure involving a defective headlamp lens and a missing rear reflector. While the 2024 pass indicates these issues were resolved, a physical inspection of the headlamp lens for clouding, cracks, or pitting is necessary to ensure light output remains sufficient. Additionally, ensure all rear reflectors and lighting assemblies are securely mounted and fully functional to avoid any recurrence of the previous minor failures.
