2006 Mercedes-Benz Vito 2.1L Diesel · FJ06 YXV

The 2006 Mercedes-Benz Vito presents a stable maintenance trend, culminating in a completely clean pass on 26 June 2025 at 202,335 miles. Recording zero defects across the most recent five consecutive annual tests demonstrates consistent mechanical upkeep. This unblemished run suggests the previous owner addressed wear items proactively rather than waiting for failures to occur. The vehicle currently sits in a sound roadworthy state according to DVSA standards. The mileage accumulation aligns perfectly with typical commercial van usage for its two-decade lifespan. Between 20 July 2021 and 26 June 2025, the odometer advanced by 16,056 miles, averaging roughly 4,000 miles per year. The increments between tests—5,153 miles in 2021-2022, 3,023 miles in 2022-2023, and 4,150 miles in 2023-2024—show a steady, predictable pattern. There are no alarming spikes indicating sustained high-speed motorway abuse, nor are there suspiciously low annual mileages that might suggest prolonged standing and subsequent fluid degradation or seizure. Despite the clean MOT history, a 2006 Vito at over 200,000 miles demands a rigorous physical inspection focused on structural integrity and aging components. Examine the chassis rails, outriggers, and load floor for corrosion, as structural rust often develops unseen beneath the load area lining. Inspect the suspension bushes and coil springs for deterioration, alongside checking the brake discs and calipers for any signs of binding or lipping that might not have triggered a failure yet. The drivetrain and exhaust system require close scrutiny for oil leaks and corrosion, respectively, given the vehicle's age and mileage. A clean MOT record confirms past compliance, but the physical wear inherent to a 20-year-old high-mileage commercial vehicle must be verified in person.
