2008 Porsche Boxster 2.7L Petrol · FJ57 BHV

The 2008 Porsche Boxster passed its most recent MOT on 24 March 2026 at 61,599 miles, and the maintenance trend is stable rather than worsening. Recurring advisories across the last five tests show no escalation into failures. The tester flagged worn, pitted rear brake discs, light oil misting on the near-side rear shock absorber, corroded coil springs, greased brake pipes, and rear pads near the wear indicator. These are chronic minor-to-moderate wear items, not structural or mechanical defects. The recorded mileage of 61,599 over roughly eighteen years equates to about 3,422 miles per year, confirming light use. The car gained only 674 miles between the March 2025 test at 60,925 miles and March 2026, and 1,996 miles across 2024 to 2025. Such low annual accumulation suggests long periods of standing, which the 2022 to 2024 tyre perishing advisories support. No gaps exist in the MOT sequence; the owner kept the test cycle continuous. A buyer should inspect the rear brake discs and pads in person, as the tester noted both sides wearing close to the indicator in 2026 after similar warnings from 2022. The near-side rear shock shows three years of light oil misting; check for progression to active leakage. Coil spring corrosion on the near-side rear and front appeared slight in 2022 and remained flagged without worsening, yet a visual check for fracture risk is warranted given the car's age. Brake pipes coated in grease since 2022 hide underlying condition and should be cleaned and examined for real corrosion. Tyre cracking flagged from 2022 to 2024 implies age-related degradation from storage; verify current tyre manufacture dates and sidewall integrity before purchase.
