2013 Toyota Aygo 1.0L Petrol · FL13 VMC

The vehicle remains roadworthy, though the history reveals a persistent trend of minor cosmetic and mechanical neglect. The most recent test in March 2026 at 38,729 miles resulted in a pass despite a binding nearside rear service brake and defective headlamp lenses. This headlamp defect is a recurring issue that has appeared in every test since 2022, suggesting the plastic lenses are suffering from UV oxidation and have not received professional restoration. At 13 years old, the recorded mileage of 38,729 miles is exceptionally low, averaging approximately 3,000 miles per year. There is a notable jump in usage between March 2025 and March 2026, where the car covered over 5,500 miles in just twelve months. While low mileage generally reduces wear on the drivetrain and suspension, it often leads to age-related degradation. The record confirms this with recurring advisories regarding tyres from 2022 through 2024, indicating the rubber compounds are failing due to age and dryness rather than tread wear. A buyer should specifically inspect the braking system, specifically the nearside rear caliper flagged for binding in the 2026 test. Persistent binding on low-mileage cars often leads to uneven disc wear and premature component failure. Furthermore, the repeated reports of perished and cracked tyres across multiple years suggest the previous owner only replaced rubber when legally necessary, rather than performing preventative maintenance. Given the low usage and age, a thorough check of the chassis for corrosion and the rubber bushings is essential as vehicles sitting for long periods can develop accelerated rust in structural areas.
