2005 Vauxhall Combo 1.2L Diesel · FM05 BCY

The Vauxhall Combo presents as roadworthy following the most recent MOT pass on 11 October 2025 at 169,386 miles, with no defects recorded. The maintenance trend is stable across the available history, showing a clean sequence of passes from 2022 through 2025 and no recurring advisories or mechanical faults flagged by testers. The single failure on 11 October 2025 at identical mileage carries no recorded defects, indicating an administrative or presentation issue at the test centre rather than a genuine mechanical concern. Annual mileage averages around 8,066 miles against the vehicle's 21-year life, which is typical for a light commercial of this age. The records show steady accumulation: 143,642 miles in October 2022, 154,581 in October 2023, 163,028 in October 2024, and 169,386 in October 2025. That equates to roughly 8,500 to 9,500 miles per year with no gaps or sudden jumps. The DVSA data is sparse on detail, listing no advisories across any test, so we have no warning signs on consumables or structure from the official record. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection beneath the vehicle. The MOT history notes no corrosion, suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs, or exhaust emissions issues, but testers at passing mileage often omit minor advisories on older vans. Check the subframe, sills, and suspension mounting points for structural rust given the 2005 build year. Verify brake caliper operation and tyre condition despite the clean record. The lack of recorded defects suggests previous owners kept basic upkeep current, yet the absence of any advisories on a 169,000-mile van is unusual. Treat the MOT as a minimum standard rather than proof of condition. A pre-purchase inspection by a Vauxhall-trained technician remains prudent before commitment.
