2005 BMW K Series 1.2L Petrol · FN05 SUO

The 2005 BMW K Series presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 16 May 2025 at 44,883 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken four-year sequence of clean MOT outcomes. Annual mileage remains exceptionally low for a machine now 21 years old. The record shows 41,099 miles in July 2022, rising to 42,039 by July 2023, 43,572 by June 2024, and 44,883 by May 2025. That equates to roughly 1,200 to 1,800 miles added each year. The sparse, fault-free history gives no evidence of neglect or rapid wear, though such low use over long intervals often means prolonged standing periods. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake calipers, as these components degrade through age and moisture even without high mileage. The absence of advisories across all four tests suggests no corrosion or structural concerns were flagged by testers, yet DVSA checks do not strip panels or measure hidden rust. Given the clean record, focus the viewing on cold-start behaviour, clutch actuation, and tyre sidewall condition, since perished rubber is a known risk on low-mileage machines left idle. The documented care pattern implies a cautious owner, but physical verification remains essential before purchase.
