2017 BMW 330 3.0L Diesel · FT17 ANP

The vehicle’s most recent MOT test on 2025-10-22 confirms it remains roadworthy at 70,740 miles, with no defects or advisories recorded. This reflects a stable maintenance trend over the past two years, as all subsequent tests—including the January 2025 retest—also passed without failings. The absence of recurring faults or advisories suggests the vehicle has not experienced persistent mechanical or structural issues, though the lack of defects does not preclude hidden wear. The most recent test was conducted just under nine months ago, which is within the standard MOT window, though it is advisable to verify whether any non-MOT-related services (such as brake fluid changes or suspension inspections) have been performed since then. The recorded mileage of 70,740 miles over nine years aligns with typical usage patterns for this age, averaging around 7,860 miles annually. There are no significant gaps in mileage accumulation that would indicate prolonged neglect, nor are there abrupt jumps that might suggest aggressive driving or deferred maintenance. The most notable observation is the January 2025 retest, which followed a failure on the same day—though no defects were logged, this suggests either a minor oversight or a test centre error. Otherwise, the mileage progression remains steady, with no red flags in the intervals between tests. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise an independent inspection of high-wear components that are not routinely checked during an MOT. Focus on the suspension, particularly the condition of coil springs, bushes, and dampers, as these are not fully assessed in standard MOT tests. The braking system warrants scrutiny, including rear brake binding (if the vehicle has been driven hard), as well as the integrity of brake discs and pads, which may have exceeded their typical lifespan. Additionally, inspect for signs of corrosion at wheel arches, sills, and underbody, especially if the vehicle has been exposed to salted roads or coastal environments. While the MOT record provides reassurance, these areas are not comprehensively tested and could indicate deferred maintenance.
