2005 Ford Fiesta 1.4L Petrol · FV05 ADU

This Ford Fiesta has maintained a consistent MOT pass record across five consecutive tests, with the most recent inspection on 22 January 2026 at 49,322 miles confirming no defects. The absence of advisories or failings over nearly two years suggests the vehicle has undergone regular, if not meticulous, servicing to address potential wear items before they escalated. However, the lack of any recorded issues does not preclude the need for a thorough independent examination, particularly given the vehicle’s age and the critical wear components that typically arise at this mileage. The recorded mileage of 49,322 miles over 21 years indicates an exceptionally low annual average of approximately 2,349 miles, well below the typical usage patterns for a car of this age. This suggests either minimal driving or prolonged periods of storage, which can accelerate deterioration of suspension bushes, coil springs, and rubber seals due to static loading and environmental exposure. The most notable gap between tests occurs between the 2022 and 2023 MOTs, spanning over a year with only 667 miles accumulated—an unusually long interval that may have allowed for subtle corrosion or fluid degradation to develop unnoticed. Given the vehicle’s age and the prolonged intervals between some MOT tests, a buyer should prioritise inspecting the suspension system for degraded bushes, cracked coil springs, or binding calipers, as these are common failure points in underused vehicles. Brake discs and pads should also be assessed for uneven wear or corrosion, particularly if the vehicle has spent extended periods stationary. Structural integrity, especially around wheel arches and sills, warrants scrutiny for corrosion, as rust can compromise load-bearing components without immediate external signs. While the MOT history is clean, these areas are often overlooked in low-mileage cars and require hands-on verification.
