2012 Skoda Octavia 2.0L Diesel · FX12 AOK

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile based on the available MOT history. The most recent test conducted in September 2025 at 147,205 miles resulted in a clean pass, indicating that any issues identified in previous years have been successfully rectified. While the car suffered a failure in September 2024 at 136,020 miles, the subsequent pass without advisories suggests the owner is proactive in maintaining safety-critical standards. The mileage pattern is consistent with a 14-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 10,500 miles per annum. Between the September 2022 test at 121,484 miles and the September 2025 test at 147,205 miles, the car covered a steady distance of roughly 8,500 to 9,000 miles annually. This consistent level of usage suggests regular road use rather than long periods of stagnation, which helps prevent internal degradation of rubber seals and brake components. Given that the record shows no recurring mechanical advisories, a physical inspection should focus on the current state of components subject to high-mileage wear. At 147,205 miles, the buyer should specifically examine the suspension bushes for cracking and check the coil springs for signs of fatigue or corrosion. The brake discs should also be inspected for excessive lip or thinning, as the MOT only checks for the functional efficiency of the system rather than its overall condition.
