2012 Ford Kuga 2.0L Diesel · G21 LAY

The 2012 Ford Kuga passed its most recent MOT on 29 October 2025 at 127,386 miles with no defects recorded, leaving it roadworthy as of that test. The maintenance trend appears stable on paper, though the two consecutive days of failure and pass in both October 2024 and October 2025 at identical mileages suggest administrative or presentation issues at the testing station rather than progressive mechanical decline. No advisories or faults were logged across any of the five tests from November 2023 to October 2025. Mileage rose from 94,832 at the 1 November 2023 test to 112,303 by 30 October 2024, then to 127,386 by 27 October 2025. That equates to roughly 17,500 miles in the first interval and 15,000 in the second, well above the lifetime average of 9,099 miles per year. The DVSA record shows no tests between November 2023 and October 2024, a twelve-month gap that is normal but leaves the intervening period unverified. Total accumulation remains consistent with typical use for a fourteen-year-old vehicle. The clean MOT history gives no direct flag for suspension bushes, brake discs, coil springs, or structural corrosion, yet a Kuga of this age and mileage warrants physical inspection of those items regardless. The repeated same-day fail-and-pass cycles in 2024 and 2025 imply the vehicle may have been presented with minor non-mechanical discrepancies; a buyer should confirm the V5C and test certificates match the recorded outcomes. Given the sparse but clean record, the prudent step is a pre-purchase inspection focusing on underbody rust, front suspension arm wear, and rear brake caliper freedom. The absence of advisories does not exempt a 127,000-mile Ford from consumable fatigue, and previous owners' care cannot be confirmed beyond the pass results themselves.
