1990 Peugeot 205 1.6L Petrol · G422 ALD

The vehicle currently holds a roadworthy status following a successful MOT test on 16 July 2025. While the record shows an initial failure on that same date and mileage, the subsequent pass with no recorded defects suggests that a specific issue was identified and rectified immediately. The maintenance trend appears stable, as there is no historical evidence of recurring mechanical failures or escalating advisories to indicate a decline in the vehicle's condition. At 135,676 miles, this 36-year-old Peugeot has covered an average of approximately 3,769 miles per year. This low usage profile suggests the car has been used sparingly, which typically preserves drivetrain components and engine internals. However, the data gap since the July 2025 test indicates the vehicle has remained operational over the last year, though low-mileage high-age vehicles often suffer from age-related dry seals and seized mechanical components rather than standard wear and tear. A buyer must prioritize a thorough inspection of the structural integrity, specifically focusing on the sills, floor pans, and suspension mounting points where the 205 is prone to corrosion. Given the low mileage, the inspector should also check for seized brake calipers, perished rubber hoses, and perished suspension bushes that degrade during long periods of standing. Because the MOT failure and pass in 2025 occurred without specific listed defects, verifying the nature of that repair is essential to ensure no hidden structural weaknesses remain.
