2007 Citroen C-Crosser 2.2L Diesel · GF57 DHY

The most recent MOT test in March 2023 resulted in a failure at 92,006 miles, yet no defects were recorded. This is an unusual outcome that demands clarification from the seller, as a failure typically indicates a specific issue. The preceding tests from 2020 to 2022 all passed with no advisories, suggesting a stable maintenance pattern. However, the lack of recorded defects in the failure makes it impossible to assess the vehicle's current roadworthiness from this record alone. The mileage of 92,006 miles over 19 years equates to roughly 4,842 miles per year, which is low for the age. The mileage progression shows a modest increase from 82,614 miles in January 2020 to 83,526 miles in February 2021, then a sharper rise to 88,192 miles in March 2022, and finally to 92,006 miles in March 2023. This indicates more frequent use in the last two years of the recorded history. Critically, there is a gap of over three years since the last MOT, with no test recorded up to the current date. This period of inactivity could lead to deterioration of seals, tyres, and fluids. Given the absence of specific faults in the MOT history, a buyer must conduct a thorough in-person inspection focusing on age-related wear. Examine the underside for structural corrosion, particularly around suspension mounting points and sills. Check suspension bushes, coil springs, and anti-roll bar links for cracking or deterioration. Brake discs and calipers should be assessed for binding or uneven wear, as standing periods can cause corrosion. Rubber components such as hoses, belts, and engine mounts may have perished due to low usage. A fresh MOT test is essential to confirm the vehicle meets current roadworthiness standards.
