A history of localized corrosion and structural concerns defines the roadworthiness record of this vehicle, despite a clean pass on 15 October 2025. The record indicates a significant structural failure in 2019 concerning the offside front seat belt anchorage and the inner sill, followed by repeated advisories in 2022 and 2023 regarding a corroded offside front brake pipe that had been covered in grease or other material. The absence of defects in the two most recent tests suggests these specific points of failure may have been rectified. The recorded mileage of 114,102 miles over 21 years represents a low annual average of approximately 5,433 miles. For a commercial vehicle, this usage pattern suggests periods of prolonged inactivity or very light duty. Mechanically, such low accumulation often shifts the primary risk away from drivetrain wear and toward the degradation of perishable rubber components and the acceleration of corrosion in areas prone to moisture retention, as evidenced by the previous MOT records. Inspection should focus heavily on the offside front chassis and the integrity of the braking system. Given the previous reports of corrosion on the brake pipe and the inner sill, a thorough physical examination of the underbody is required to ensure that the corrosion has been properly treated rather than merely masked. During a test drive, the buyer should monitor for any spongy pedal feel or a lack of immediate response during braking, which could indicate compromised hydraulic lines. Particular attention must be paid to the quality of the repair carried out on the inner sill following the 2019 anchorage failure. Examine the area for signs of poor weld penetration or surface bubbling that could indicate returning oxidation. While driving, listen for any abnormal knocks or vibrations emanating from the offside front corner when traversing uneven road surfaces, as this can reveal weaknesses in the structural mounting points or associated suspension components.
