1997 Jaguar XK8 4.0L Petrol · GR 6632

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status based on the most recent inspection data. On 7 October 2021, at 66,928 miles, the Jaguar passed its MOT with no defects or advisories recorded. This indicates that at that specific point in time, all monitored components met the legal standard, though the lack of subsequent records since that date means the current mechanical state remains unverified by official testing. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a 29-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 2,308 miles per year. While low mileage typically suggests reduced wear on the engine and drivetrain, such long periods of low use can often lead to the degradation of rubber-based components and fluid integrity. The significant time gap between the 2021 test and the current date suggests the car may have sat stationary for extended intervals, which frequently results in seized way components, perished hoses, or internal corrosion within the fuel system. A physical inspection must prioritize areas susceptible to age-related decay rather than simple mileage wear. Given the age of the XK8, a buyer should scrutinize the suspension bushes, coil springs, and rubber mounts for cracking or structural failure. The braking system should be checked for binding calipers or corroded lines resulting from inactivity. Furthermore, a thorough check of the chassis for structural integrity is required to identify rust, particularly around the wheel arches and floor pans, where moisture often collects over decades irrespective of the odometer's reading.
