2005 Volkswagen Transporter 2.5L Diesel · GU05 CJJ

The Volkswagen Transporter presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 3 March 2026 at 185,908 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, and the prior examination on 14 November 2024 at 185,531 miles also passed clean. The vehicle shows no advisories or mechanical faults across the available history, indicating consistent compliance with roadworthiness standards over the last three years. Recorded mileage sits at 185,908 against a 21-year-old vehicle, equating to roughly 8,853 miles per year which is typical for the model age. The gap between the November 2022 test at 178,546 miles and the November 2023 test at 183,263 miles shows about 4,700 miles covered, then only 2,268 miles to the November 2024 reading and a mere 377 miles to the March 2026 pass. This tapering use pattern suggests the van spent extended periods stationary in later life. The MOT data is sparse and clean with no consumable wear or structural issues flagged at any stage. A duplicate failed entry dated 9 November 2023 at 183,263 miles appears in the record with no defects listed, which points to an administrative retest rather than a genuine mechanical fault. The owner avoided any tyre, brake, or suspension advisories throughout, implying basic upkeep was maintained even if usage dropped. No corrosion, exhaust emission breaches, or binding caliper reports appear in the chronology. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs given the vehicle's age and low recent mileage which can allow seizing and perished rubbers. Standing time raises the risk of unseen structural rust beneath sills and chassis members not captured by the clean tests. Verify the 2023 duplicate failure was clerical and confirm the odometer consistency before purchase.
