2005 Mercedes-Benz Viano 2.1L Diesel · GY55 AAU

The vehicle is currently roadworthy, but the maintenance trend shows a shift towards deferred upkeep after a period of cleanliness. The most recent test in March 2026 at 121,176 miles flagged multiple advisories regarding the rear anti-roll bar bush, suspension bellows, and both rear tyres. While the vehicle passed without defects in both 2023 and 2025, the emergence of these faults indicates that rubber components are now reaching the end of their functional life simultaneously. The mileage profile is notably low for a 21-year-old Mercedes, averaging approximately 5,770 miles per year. There is a significant gap of 16,023 miles recorded between February 2021 and March 2022, followed by a more rapid accumulation of 14,344 miles in the final four years leading up to March 2026. This pattern suggests the vehicle may have sat stationary for long periods or was used sporadically, which often explains the degradation of rubber parts like the brake hoses and suspension bellows despite the low total odometer reading. A buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection of the rear suspension assembly, as the record shows recurring issues with the anti-roll bar linkages and bushes from 2021 through 2026. The cracked suspension bellows noted in the 2026 test require immediate replacement to prevent air leaks. Furthermore, the history of corroded brake pipes in 2021 and a deteriorated nearside rear hose in 2022 necessitates a comprehensive check of the entire braking system for structural corrosion across the chassis to ensure no hidden failures are present.
