2007 Volkswagen FOX 1.2L Petrol · H26 JPS

The May 2024 MOT at 84,461 miles passed with no defects, confirming the vehicle is presently roadworthy and showing a stable maintenance pattern after the April 2024 failure was quickly corrected. The recorded mileage of 84,461 miles over 19 years averages 4,445 miles per year, a low figure that suggests limited use or extended periods of standing; mileage rose from 78,266 miles in April 2022 to 81,821 miles in April 2023, a gain of 3,555 miles in eleven months, then increased by only 2,608 miles to the April 2024 test, and finally by 32 miles in the month before the May test. A buyer should inspect the suspension bushes and coil springs for wear or binding, test the rear brakes for binding calipers and examine brake discs for scoring, check the exhaust system and structural areas around the wheel arches for rust, and verify tyre tread depth and condition, as low mileage can mask corrosion while infrequent use may cause seized components.
