2006 Mercedes C180 K Sport Edition Auto 1.8L Petrol · HEZ 7045

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile based on a consistent history of clean passes over the last several years. The most recent inspection in December 2023 at 120,601 miles resulted in no recorded defects, indicating that the previous owner has maintained the car to a passing standard. While a single failure occurred in November 2021, the immediate rectification and subsequent clean tests suggest that issues are addressed rather than allowed to escalate into mechanical neglect. The mileage pattern is remarkably consistent for a twenty-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 6,000 miles per year. Between November 2019 and December 2023, the car covered 32,980 miles, which reflects light to moderate usage that avoids the strain of high-mileage commuting. The gap between the 2022 and 2023 tests shows a steady accumulation of roughly 9,000 miles annually, suggesting the vehicle is used regularly which helps prevent the degradation of rubber components and seals often associated with long periods of standing. Given that the record shows no recurring advisories, a buyer should focus their physical inspection on age-related degradation that MOT tests do not always capture. At 120,000 miles, the Mercedes suspension requires close scrutiny for control arm bushes and coil spring wear, which often perish on this chassis. The underbody should also be inspected for structural corrosion, particularly around the subframes and rear wheel arch mounting points, as the MOT record does not explicitly rule out surface-level rust. Checking the automatic transmission fluid condition and brake caliper leaks is also essential to ensure the low-mileage status has not masked internal component wear.
