2017 Yamaha YZF 0.1L Petrol · HG66 AXM

The vehicle maintains a high standard of roadworthiness with a consistently stable MOT history history. The most recent test conducted on 12 November 2024 at 8,414 miles passed with no defects or advisories recorded. This trend of clean passes across multiple years suggests that the mechanical components remain well-preserved and have not suffered from recurring mechanical failures or structural degradation during its service. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a nine-year-old motorcycle, averaging approximately 935 miles per year. There is a significant gap in usage between April 2021 and December 2021, where the bike covered only 118 miles over eight months, followed by another period of low activity. Since 2023, the usage has become more consistent, with the mileage rising from 4,162 miles in February 2023 to 5,797 miles in February 2024, and reaching 8,414 miles by late 2024. While the low mileage reduces wear on the drivetrain and suspension, it necessitates a physical check for issues associated with long periods of storage. Because the MOT record shows no mechanical faults or corrosion issues, a buyer should focus on age-related degradation that a stationary test might not capture. Inspect the tyres for dry rot or flat spotting, as low mileage often leads to rubber hardening before tread wear becomes evident. Check the brake fluid for moisture absorption and inspect the calipers for signs of seizing due to disuse. Additionally, examine the chain androckets for rust or improper lubrication to ensure the low-mile engine has been maintained regularly despite the infrequent annual mileage.
