2004 Ford Focus 1.6L Petrol · HN54 MXB

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status based on the most recent data, though the record is significantly outdated. The final test on 31 January 2022 at 116,579 miles returned a pass with no recorded defects, following an immediate pass on the same day. Because no tests have been recorded since early 2022, it is impossible to confirm the current mechanical condition or determine if the vehicle has deteriorated over the last four years. At 22 years old, the recorded mileage of 116,579 miles represents an average of approximately 5,300 miles per year. This low annual usage suggests the car has seen light use, but long periods of standing often lead to the degradation of rubber components, fluid breakdown, and corrosion-related issues. The four-year gap since the last MOT entry indicates the vehicle has likely been off the road or used without formal legal inspections, which increases the risk of hidden mechanical failures in safety-critical systems. A buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection focusing on structural integrity, as older Ford models of this era are prone to corrosion in the sills and rear arches. Given the low mileage, the suspension bushes and coil springs should be checked for perishing or cracking resulting from age. The brake discs and calipers require examination for seized pistons or heavy pitting, as the lack of movement since the 2022 test suggests the braking system may be seized or corroded.
