2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2.1L Diesel · HX16 FHG

The 2016 Mercedes‑Benz Sprinter passed its latest MOT on 31 July 2025 at 268,734 miles, confirming that it remains roadworthy and that the maintenance record shows a stable trend despite a failure recorded the day before at the same mileage. The mileage trajectory reveals accelerated use: after a pass at 136,048 miles in February 2023, the vehicle covered roughly 46,700 miles by April 2024, and then added about 85,600 miles in the following 15 months, bringing the total to 268,734 miles. The gaps between tests are not extensive, indicating continuous operation rather than long periods of standing. A buyer should therefore focus on the suspension system, checking bushes and coil springs for wear or binding, and examine the brake discs and calipers for scoring or uneven wear, as high mileage can accelerate such deterioration. Inspection of the chassis and wheel arches for structural rust, particularly around the load floor and side sills, is advisable, as is a review of the exhaust system for corrosion or leaks. Since no defects were recorded in the recent test, these areas merit close visual and tactile assessment during a physical inspection.
