2015 Scooters India LTD Lambretta GP 0.2L Petrol · J183 OFX

This Lambretta GP has demonstrated consistent roadworthiness through its most recent MOT test on 1 September 2022, with no defects recorded at 2,705 miles. The absence of advisories or failings in that assessment suggests the vehicle passed all mandatory checks for brakes, lights, steering, and emissions without incident. However, the test date now stands over three years out of date, which is unacceptable for a vehicle of this age and low-mileage profile. The lack of subsequent testing raises immediate concerns about whether the vehicle has been regularly maintained or even used since then, particularly given its vintage suspension and braking systems. The recorded mileage of 2,705 miles over approximately 11 years—roughly 246 miles annually—is exceptionally low for a vehicle of this type and age. Such minimal usage could indicate prolonged periods of storage, which may have accelerated deterioration of rubber components like suspension bushes, throttle cables, and seals. The absence of intermediate MOT tests also prevents verification of whether critical elements such as coil springs, steering dampers, or brake hydraulic systems were inspected or replaced during this period. Without evidence of regular servicing, even minor wear items like tyres, wiper blades, or battery condition could have degraded significantly beyond their expected lifespan. Given the prolonged gap since the last MOT, a buyer should prioritise an immediate visual and functional inspection of the suspension system, including coil springs for corrosion or fatigue cracks, and the rubber bushes at the rear swingarm pivots. The brakes, despite passing the last test, warrant scrutiny for uneven wear on discs or pads, binding calipers, or corrosion in the master cylinder reservoir area. Structural integrity should also be checked for signs of rust penetration in the frame or subframe, particularly around the fuel tank mounting points and rear axle housing, where moisture accumulation is common in stored vehicles. The electrical system, including the battery and wiring loom, should be tested for corrosion or dry-rotted connections, as prolonged inactivity can compromise these components.
