2010 Volvo XC70 2.4L Diesel · J2 KND

The Volvo XC70 presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 12 December 2025 at 155,410 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken sequence of clean results since at least November 2021. No advisories or mechanical faults appear across the five-year MOT span, indicating the vehicle has not entered a worsening condition cycle. Annual mileage sits close to the 9,713 per year average for a 16-year-old estate. The records show 146,338 miles in November 2021, rising to 149,741 by November 2022, then 153,359 in December 2023, 154,525 in December 2024, and 155,410 in December 2025. The owner added only 885 miles across the final twelve months, a sharp drop from prior yearly gains near 3,000 to 4,000 miles. Such low recent use suggests the car has been lightly driven or partially stored rather than racked up motorway wear. The absence of flagged suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs, or corrosion in any test means no recurring fault pattern demands correction. A clean sheet across five winters implies previous owners kept basic consumables and structural integrity in check. Still, the 2025 pass with zero advisories does not confirm hidden age-related rust on sills or subframes that a pit inspection would expose. A buyer should physically verify underbody structural condition, check for perished rubber mounts from standing time, and confirm brake calipers are free given the low mileage accumulation. Test the 3.2 or D5 drivetrain for cold-start noises and inspect tyre sidewalls for cracking from disuse. The MOT history supports a sound purchase, but static storage at 155k miles warrants hands-on checks the paper record cannot supply.
