The vehicle currently appears roadworthy, but the maintenance history reveals a history of significant structural and mechanical neglect. The most recent MOT test in August 2022 at 55,023 miles passed with no defects, suggesting a period of stability following several previous failures. However, the data from 2009 to 2011 shows a clear trend of recurring corrosion and component failure that indicates long-term concerns for a vehicle of this age. The mileage profile is highly unusual for a 34-year-old car, averaging approximately 1,600 miles per year. There is a massive eleven-year gap between the October 2011 test at 85,559 miles and the 2022 test at 55,023 miles. This discrepancy suggests the vehicle sat stationary for long periods or the odometer was not recorded accurately during that decade. While low mileage generally reduces wear on the drivetrain, it often leads to degradation of rubber components, seized brakes, and accelerated corrosion due to lack, which matches the issues seen in the earlier records. A buyer must conduct a rigorous physical inspection of the chassis and subframes. The records from 2009, 2010, and 2011 repeatedly flagged corrosion on the rear subframe, suspension arms, steering tie rods, and coil springs. Specifically, the 2011 failure for excessively corroded seat belt anchorage is a serious safety concern that indicates deep-seated rust in the structural bodywork. The buyer should also check the offside front brake system to ensure the binding caliper issues noted in 2011 have not returned due to the long periods of inactivity.
