1991 Suzuki GSX 1.1L Petrol · J965 HCR

The Suzuki GSX presents a stable maintenance trend, having secured a clean pass with zero recorded defects in the June 2023 test at 3,636 miles. This recent ticket reflects a machine that successfully met statutory roadworthiness standards at its last assessment, though the current 2026 inspection date reveals a significant gap since the paperwork was last renewed. The recorded mileage sits at an exceptionally low 3,636 miles across an approximate thirty-five year lifespan, averaging out to roughly 104 miles per year. Progressing from 3,506 miles in September 2021 to 3,636 miles in June 2023 demonstrates that the motorcycle has barely covered any distance between recent tests. Such minimal usage points towards prolonged periods of storage or very occasional fair-weather riding rather than consistent, high-mileage deployment. Extended static storage on vintage machinery of this vintage often brings hidden mechanical vulnerabilities that standard MOT checks fail to capture. A physical inspection must prioritize perishable components such as rubber fuel lines, fork seals, and tyre sidewalls, all of which degrade over decades regardless of low mileage accumulation. Potential buyers should also inspect the braking system for seized hydraulic pistons or contaminated fluid, check the fuel tank for internal corrosion, and verify that the carburettors are free from varnish build-up caused by stale petrol sitting idle.
