2012 Audi A3 SE 138 TDI 2.0L Heavy oil · JFZ 1436

The 2012 Audi A3 SE 1.38 TDI has maintained a clean MOT record over the past four years, with the most recent test on 23 March 2026 at 114,284 miles showing no defects—an outcome repeated across the five consecutive entries since 13 November 2021 . This consistency suggests the vehicle has been well maintained within the MOT testing framework, with no recurring advisories or failures to indicate deteriorating mechanical integrity. The absence of defects in recent years, particularly in critical areas like brakes, suspension, or structural corrosion, implies that routine servicing has been upheld, though this does not preclude hidden wear beyond MOT scrutiny. The latest test’s proximity to the current date—just four months ago—confirms the car has not been driven since passing, which may mask any deferred maintenance or gradual component fatigue. The mileage accumulation reflects a steady, moderate usage pattern for its age, averaging roughly 8,163 miles per year over the past four years. Between 13 November 2021 (99,897 miles) and 23 March 2026 (114,284 miles) , the vehicle covered 14,387 miles in 4 years and 4 months , a rate that aligns with typical light-to-moderate use. The gap between the 2022 December test (103,130 miles) and the 2024 March test (107,175 miles) —a span of 1 year and 3 months —suggests either a period of reduced activity or a delay in MOT testing, though the latter is less likely given the subsequent regularity. There are no red flags in the mileage progression to suggest abuse or neglect; however, the lack of advisories does not guarantee the absence of high-mileage wear in non-MOT-checked components. For a buyer, the primary focus should be on components not routinely inspected during MOTs, particularly the suspension bushes, coil springs, and anti-roll bars , which may exhibit wear beyond visual checks. The brake system , while passing all tests, should be scrutinised for binding calipers, uneven disc wear, or fluid leaks , as TDI models are prone to thermal stress. Exhaust emissions —though not flagged—could degrade over time, warranting a pre-purchase emissions test if the car shows signs of rough idling or excessive smoke. Structural corrosion , especially around wheel arches, sills, and underbody, should be examined closely, as Audi’s use of mixed materials can accelerate rust in high-moisture conditions. Finally, timing belt and water pump integrity are critical but not MOT-checked; given the age, these should be verified with service records or a professional inspection.
