2012 Land Rover Defender 90 XS TD 2.2L Diesel · JHZ 130

The vehicle presents a clean roadworthiness status with a stable maintenance trend, evidenced by the most recent DVSA test on 11 November 2025 at 73,423 miles, roughly eight months before the current date, where the tester passed the Defender with no defects recorded. Prior examinations on 8 September 2024, 4 October 2023 and 9 June 2022 returned identical fault-free results. The absence of any advisories across four consecutive tests indicates consistent mechanical condition and no worsening or recurring faults. The odometer shows 73,423 miles against a 2012 build date, equating to an average annual mileage of roughly 5,244, which is low for a fourteen-year-old utility vehicle. The record spans from 67,844 miles at the 9 June 2022 test to 70,260 miles by 4 October 2023, then 71,774 miles on 8 September 2024, and finally 73,423 miles in November 2025. A sixteen-month interval between the 2022 and 2023 tests suggests the vehicle may have stood idle for periods or the owner delayed testing, yet the low annual accumulation points to light use rather than arduous off-road duties. The sparse but unbroken pass history reveals no rapid mileage spikes that would accelerate consumable wear. Despite the fault-free MOT ledger, a buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of structural and mechanical items typical to this model and age. The tester flagged no corrosion, suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs or binding calipers, but Land Rover Defenders of this era are prone to chassis rust and degraded polybushes after prolonged standing. Examine the ladder frame for perforation, check the front swivel housings for play, and assess the condition of brake lines and exhaust emissions components. Such checks confirm the recorded cleanliness translates to genuine roadworthiness.
