2012 Volvo XC60 2.4L Diesel · JJ07 KES

The vehicle presents an exceptionally clean MOT history, with the most recent test conducted on 9 March 2026 at 157,260 miles resulting in a clear pass with no recorded defects. This pattern of clean passes across the last five consecutive years indicates a stable and well-maintained mechanical condition. The absence of even minor advisories over this extended period suggests the previous owner adhered to a proactive maintenance schedule rather than merely performing reactive repairs to satisfy minimum legal standards. The recorded mileage of 157,260 over fourteen years averages to approximately 11,233 miles annually, which aligns with typical usage for a vehicle of this class. The data shows a consistent accumulation of miles, with a notable increase of roughly 19,000 miles between the March 2025 and March 2026 tests. This steady usage pattern is preferable to long periods of inactivity, as it suggests the engine, drivetrain, and seals have remained lubricated and functional through regular operation. While the MOT record is pristine, a physical inspection should focus on components that fall outside the scope of the annual test. Given the high mileage, you must verify the condition of the timing belt, as failure of this component can cause catastrophic engine damage regardless of a clean MOT history. Check the service book for evidence of recent fluid changes, specifically for the automatic transmission and Haldex all-wheel-drive system, as these are critical for the longevity of this model. Inspect the underside for signs of surface corrosion on the subframes and check the suspension bushes for perishing rubber, as these items often show wear at this age even if they do not yet trigger a test failure.
