2002 Lancia Flavia 1.8L Petrol · JKE 162D

The roadworthiness status of this Lancia Flavia remains technically unverified for the current period, as the vehicle has not undergone an MOT test in over four years. The last recorded pass on 23 April 2022 at 91,232 miles shows no defects, yet this data is now significantly outdated. A clean pass four years ago provides no indication of the vehicle's current mechanical condition, particularly regarding rubber components, fluid degradation, or the onset of structural corrosion that often develops during prolonged periods of inactivity. The recorded mileage of 91,232 over twenty-four years averages approximately 3,800 miles annually, which is notably low for a vehicle of this age. The lack of test records since April 2022 suggests the car may have been off the road or stored for an extended duration. While low mileage can indicate light usage, it frequently masks issues related to long-term storage, such as seized brake calipers, perished fuel lines, or internal engine components suffering from stagnant oil and coolant. Prospective buyers must prioritise a thorough inspection of the vehicle’s structural integrity, specifically checking the chassis and subframes for corrosion that may have developed while the car was stationary. The braking system requires a full assessment to ensure discs are not pitted and that the calipers operate freely without binding. Given the age of the vehicle and the significant gap in the MOT history, a comprehensive service including the replacement of all timing belts, fluids, and filters is necessary before the car can be considered reliable for regular road use.
