2023 Volvo XC60 Core T6 Recharge AWD Auto 2.0L Hybrid electric (clean) · JO02 JJL

The most recent DVSA MOT test for this 2023 Volvo XC60 Core T6 Recharge AWD was conducted on 18 August 2026 and the vehicle passed with no advisories or defects recorded. As this is the only entry present in the official MOT history, there is no longitudinal trend data against which to evaluate whether the maintenance profile is improving or deteriorating; the absence of any recorded defects at the first test does, however, indicate that the vehicle was presented in a roadworthy condition at approximately three years of age. A clean first pass on a relatively modern vehicle is the expected outcome provided it has been serviced in accordance with Volvo's manufacturer schedule, but it should not on its own be interpreted as a comprehensive mechanical guarantee. The recorded mileage of 31,619 miles over an ownership period of roughly three years equates to an annual average of approximately 10,540 miles, which sits squarely within the typical usage band for a UK private vehicle. There are no apparent anomalies such as extended periods of standing, disproportionately rapid accumulation, or unusual gaps in usage that might raise concerns about component degradation from inactivity or accelerated wear from sustained high-mileage operation. For a T6 Recharge, which carries both a petrol engine and an electric drive system with associated high-voltage components, this moderate and consistent usage pattern is generally favourable, as it tends to keep the combustion engine regularly exercised while allowing the hybrid system to operate within its intended thermal and cycling parameters. In the absence of any recorded advisories or recurring defect patterns, the prospective buyer should focus inspection efforts on age- and mileage-appropriate items rather than chasing specific flagged concerns. Tyres warrant particular attention, as original fitments on a three-year-old vehicle of this mileage are likely approaching the end of their useful life, and even relatively new-looking rubber can suffer sidewall perishing and tread cracking from UV exposure and ambient temperature cycling; a thorough check of the sidewalls, manufacture date codes, and even wear across the axle is advisable. The 12V auxiliary battery, which supports the vehicle's electrical infrastructure independent of the high-voltage pack, should be tested for state of health, particularly if the vehicle has been left standing for extended periods, as lithium-iron-phosphate and AGM-type auxiliary batteries in modern Volvos can deteriorate prematurely under such conditions. Given the hybrid powertrain and the vehicle's age, calendar-based servicing items should also be verified. Brake fluid is hygroscopic and is typically due for renewal every two years regardless of mileage, so the buyer should confirm this has been addressed within the service history, as moisture ingress can lead to corrosion within the ABS modulator and a soft pedal feel. Similarly, the condition of the brake discs and calipers should be physically inspected for any signs of binding, as standing corrosion on the disc friction surfaces and seized caliper slide pins are common issues on lightly used vehicles. The cooling system, including the hoses, expansion tank, and heat exchanger for the high-voltage battery, should be examined for leaks or staining, and the underbody should be raised or inspected on a ramp for any corrosion, exhaust box integrity, and signs of oil or coolant weepage from the engine, transmission, or rear electric drive unit. Finally, confirming a complete main dealer or specialist service history with documented Volvo diagnostic scans will provide the strongest assurance that the hybrid system, brake-by-wire functionality, and software calibrations are functioning as intended.
