2020 Volkswagen Golf 1.6L Diesel · JR54 MRR

The 2020 Volkswagen Golf demonstrates a stable roadworthiness profile, with all four MOT tests from 2022 to 2025 recording no defects. The most recent assessment on 2025-08-28 at 37,561 miles confirmed compliance, aligning with the consistent pattern of passing results over the past four years. No advisories or critical failures were noted, indicating the vehicle has been maintained to meet legal standards without significant mechanical degradation. Mileage progression shows a steady annual increase of approximately 6,000 to 7,000 miles, reflecting typical usage for a six-year-old vehicle. The 2022-09-09 test at 15,126 miles marked the earliest recorded data, with subsequent tests at 26,187 (2023-09-01), 31,930 (2024-08-29), and 37,561 (2025-08-28). No abrupt spikes or prolonged inactivity periods are evident, suggesting regular operation. The absence of recurring issues in the MOT history implies no systemic faults requiring urgent intervention. A buyer should visually inspect the suspension components, particularly the rear coil springs and bushings, which are common wear points in this model. While no corrosion or structural defects were flagged, checking the exhaust system for early signs of rust is advisable, as underbody exposure can accelerate degradation. Brake discs and calipers should also be examined for uneven wear, as even minor imbalances may develop over time. The vehicle’s clean MOT record suggests diligent upkeep, but physical verification of these areas will confirm its ongoing reliability.
