2015 KIA Sportage KX-2 Crdi 2.0L Diesel · JX52 MOB

The 2015 Kia Sportage KX-2 CRDI presents a stable and unremarkable MOT history, with no defects recorded across the five most recent tests up to October 2025. The October 2025 inspection at 109,866 miles confirmed the vehicle met all DVSA roadworthiness standards, continuing a consistent trend of passing without advisories or failures since at least September 2021. This suggests the car has either been well-maintained by previous owners or has benefited from a combination of robust build quality and moderate usage. There is no evidence of recurring issues that would indicate neglect or progressive mechanical degradation. The mileage accumulation aligns closely with typical expectations for a vehicle of this age, averaging around 9,988 miles per year over its lifetime. The most recent 11,343-mile interval between October 2024 and October 2025 is in line with the previous annual increments, with no sudden spikes or prolonged periods of inactivity that might suggest storage or infrequent use. The absence of advisories or defects in the MOT record also implies that routine servicing—such as fluid top-ups, filter replacements, and tyre rotations—has likely been addressed, though this cannot be confirmed without service history. For a prospective buyer, the primary focus should be on components not routinely covered by MOT tests but critical to long-term reliability. Given the absence of recorded faults, attention should turn to the suspension system, including coil springs, anti-roll bars, and bushings, which may show signs of wear despite passing inspections. The brake system, including calipers, pads, and discs, should be visually and functionally checked, as binding or uneven wear could develop without being flagged in a pass. Structural integrity, particularly around wheel arches, sills, and suspension mounts, should be scrutinised for corrosion or fatigue cracks, especially in a diesel model prone to moisture retention. Finally, while the MOT record is clean, a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic would be prudent to verify the condition of the drivetrain, exhaust emissions, and any potential hidden issues in the electrical or steering systems.
