2006 SEAT Leon 2.0L Petrol · KC56 MRX

Based on the official DVSA MOT records, this 2006 SEAT Leon presents a stable and reassuring roadworthiness profile. The most recent test, conducted on 27 November 2024 at 121,141 miles, passed with zero defects recorded. This clean sheet is not an isolated event. The vehicle has consistently passed its annual tests in 2022 and 2024, with the only recorded failures occurring in 2023. Crucially, both the October and November 2023 failures list no defects, indicating the issues were minor, likely administrative or related to easily rectified items like lighting or emissions, and were promptly resolved before the retest. The maintenance trend is therefore stable and improving, demonstrating a pattern of responsible ownership and timely rectification of any flagged items. The mileage accumulation is remarkably consistent and typical for a vehicle of this age. Between the October 2022 test at 109,900 miles and the November 2024 test at 121,141 miles, the vehicle covered approximately 11,241 miles over two years, averaging 5,620 miles annually. This aligns closely with the overall lifetime average of roughly 6,057 miles per year. There are no alarming gaps or sudden spikes in the recorded data that would suggest long periods of inactivity or exceptionally high recent use. The mileage pattern indicates steady, regular driving, which is generally beneficial for a vehicle's mechanical health compared to prolonged standing. A buyer should approach this Leon with cautious optimism, but a thorough in-person inspection remains essential. The complete absence of mechanical or structural advisories in the recent history is a strong positive indicator. However, the vehicle is approaching its twentieth year. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the condition of the underside for corrosion, particularly on suspension mounting points, subframes, and sills, as age-related structural integrity is the primary concern for a car of this vintage. The condition of consumable components like tyres, brake discs, and pads should be verified, as the steady mileage suggests these will have worn predictably. The suspension bushes and shock absorbers deserve close scrutiny, as 121,141 miles of use will have tested their durability, even if no recent MOT has flagged them. The 2023 failures, while minor, warrant a check of the exhaust emissions system and all electrical components to ensure everything remains in good order.
