2003 Volkswagen Transporter 2.5L Diesel · KE03 RNO

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile based on the recent MOT history. The most recent inspection conducted in October 2024 at 257,879 miles resulted in no recorded defects, indicating that the Transporter currently meets the minimum legal safety standards. While a failure occurred in early October 2023, the immediate pass just two weeks later suggests that any identified issues were addressed promptly, and the vehicle has maintained a consistent standard since. The mileage pattern is consistent with a well-used commercial vehicle of this age, averaging approximately 11,200 miles per annum. Between October 2021 and October 2022, the vehicle covered 11,945 miles, showing a steady and predictable usage rate rather than periods of long neglect or excessive strain. The interval between the 2022 and 2023 tests shows 3,733 miles driven, which aligns with the short-term activity seen around the October 2023 test failures and passes. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the structural integrity of the chassis and floor pans, given the high mileage and age of this T5 generation model. Although the recent records show no advisories, high-mileage Transporters often suffer from corrosion in the sills and rear mounting points. Examining the suspension bushes and checking for play in the coil springs is also vital, as these components endure significant stress over 250,000 miles and may not always be flagged until they reach a critical point of failure.
