2015 Ford Transit 2.2L Diesel · KJ15 ABY

This 2015 Ford Transit has demonstrated a stable roadworthiness trend over its MOT history, with no recurring defects or advisories recorded across five tests. The most recent examination on 2025-12-15 confirmed full compliance without failings, despite an unusual back-to-back pass/fail sequence at identical mileages (89,333 and 89,332) on the same date. This suggests either a minor administrative oversight or a deliberate retest to resolve a non-mechanical issue, as no technical faults were logged. The vehicle’s consistent pass rates imply that previous owners maintained it within DVSA’s baseline standards, though the lack of advisories means no pre-existing concerns were flagged before testing. Mileage progression indicates typical usage for its age, averaging around 8,121 miles annually—a rate that aligns with moderate commercial or light fleet operation. The gap between tests remains standard, with roughly 12-month intervals between examinations, though the 2023 retest (74,654 to 74,668 miles) appears anomalous. No rapid mileage spikes or prolonged inactivity are evident, and the recorded figures do not suggest excessive wear on high-mileage components like suspension bushes or drivetrain synchronisers. However, the absence of service records means critical intervals for fluid changes, timing belt inspections, or differential maintenance cannot be verified. Given the clean MOT history, an in-person inspection should prioritise components prone to wear at this mileage: the rear brake calipers and discs (noted for binding in some Transit models), coil spring integrity for sagging or corrosion, and suspension bushes for perished rubber. Exhaust emissions should be monitored for elevated CO or HC readings, as older diesel units can develop catalytic converter or DPF issues. Structural corrosion is less likely at this mileage, but wheel arches, sills, and subframe welds warrant scrutiny for hidden pitting. The lack of advisories does not preclude hidden damage, so a thorough brake fluid flush, power steering reservoir check, and differential inspection are advisable before committing to purchase.
