2023 Tesla Model Y RWD Electric · KN22 AAA

The vehicle has successfully passed its most recent MOT inspection on 1 September 2026 with no defects or advisories recorded. As the vehicle is relatively new, the MOT history is currently sparse, but the clean pass suggests that the fundamental safety elements, including lighting, steering, and structural integrity, were found to be within acceptable regulatory limits. While a single pass does not establish a long-term maintenance trend, the lack of recorded issues at this stage implies that the vehicle has not suffered from significant component failure or neglect that would typically trigger an MOT failure. The recorded mileage of 40,844 miles indicates an average annual usage of approximately 13,615 miles. This represents a higher-than-average usage profile for a three-year-old vehicle, suggesting consistent and frequent road use. From a mechanical standpoint, this level of mileage means that the vehicle's consumables will have undergone more significant wear than a lower-mileage example. You should anticipate that components such as tyres, suspension bushes, and brake pads will be further along in their lifecycle, and their condition should be a primary focus during your physical inspection. Because the MOT record is clean, your inspection must move beyond the official documentation to assess physical wear. Closely examine the tyres for uneven wear patterns, which can be a symptom of worn suspension components or incorrect wheel alignment, and check the sidewalls for any signs of perishing. During the test drive, listen carefully for any knocking or clunking sounds from the suspension, particularly when navigating speed bumps or uneven road surfaces, as this may indicate worn dampers or control arm bushes. Additionally, check the brake discs for any signs of heavy corrosion or scoring, and ensure the braking feels consistent without any shuddering or pulling to one side. Finally, verify the vehicle's service history to confirm that time-sensitive maintenance, such as brake fluid replacement and cabin filter changes, has been performed according to the manufacturer's schedule. Given the higher mileage, it is also prudent to inspect the underside of the vehicle for any signs of impact damage to the battery housing or drive unit. Ensure the 12V auxiliary battery is in good health and that the charging connections are clean and free from debris. A thorough test drive should include several variations in speed and braking force to ensure the drivetrain and regenerative braking systems operate smoothly and without hesitation.
