2008 Citroen C4 1.6L Diesel · KO08 AGY

The vehicle currently lacks a valid MOT certificate following a failure on 10 February 2025 at 126,673 miles. While the preceding three annual tests between January 2022 and January 2024 resulted in clean passes with no recorded defects or advisories, the most recent failure status indicates an unresolved issue. Because the record lists no specific defects for the 2025 failure, the vehicle may have been presented with a missing or illegible VIN, a non-compliant registration plate, or a failure to meet basic emissions standards that the tester did not log as a specific component fault. Annual mileage accumulation remains consistent with a vehicle of this age, averaging roughly 2,000 miles per year over the last three recorded intervals. The total distance of 126,673 miles over eighteen years suggests a steady usage pattern rather than prolonged periods of inactivity, which typically helps mitigate issues like seized brake calipers or perished rubber seals. The lack of recurring advisories throughout the 2022 to 2024 period implies that previous owners likely addressed consumable items such as tyres and brake pads promptly, preventing them from escalating into formal test failures. Prospective buyers must prioritise a thorough physical inspection of the chassis and subframe, as the absence of recorded advisories in the MOT history may mask underlying corrosion common in Citroen models of this vintage. You should inspect the condition of the suspension bushes and coil springs, as these components often degrade on vehicles reaching this mileage threshold. Verify the status of the exhaust system and ensure the engine management light is not illuminated, as the 2025 test failure may stem from an emissions-related fault that remains unaddressed. Given the current lack of a valid certificate, a comprehensive independent pre-purchase inspection is necessary to confirm the vehicle is roadworthy before any attempt is made to drive it on the public highway.
