2006 Skoda Fabia 1.9L Diesel · KS55 ABV

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile based on a consistent history of passes over the last five years. The most recent test conducted in December 2022 at 146,003 miles resulted in no recorded defects or advisories. This indicates a high standard of basic maintenance and a proactive approach to mechanical upkeep, as the tester found no issues with emissions, braking systems, or structural integrity during that inspection. The mileage accumulation is remarkably consistent for a twenty-year-old Fabia, averaging approximately 7,300 miles per annum. Between December 2018 and December 2022, the car covered 21,321 miles, showing steady usage patterns of roughly 5,300 miles per year. This regularity suggests regular vehicle use which often prevents the dry rot and seized components associated with long periods of standing. However, as the last recorded MOT was over three and a half years ago, the vehicle is currently overdue for a test and requires an immediate inspection. Given the lack of advisories in the historical data, a buyer should focus their physical inspection on age-related wear that MOT tests not always catch. Prioritize the structural integrity of the sills and rear arches for corrosion, which is common on this era of Skoda. Inspect the rubber suspension bushes and boots for cracking or tearing, as these degrade over time despite low mileage. Since the car exceeds 140,000 miles, verify the condition of the timing belt and check for any fluid leaks around the engine or gearbox seals.
