2014 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0L Diesel · KV14 ESO

The 2014 Volkswagen Touareg presents a stable and favourable roadworthiness profile based on five consecutive MOT passes with no defects recorded. The most recent test on 21 July 2025 at 101,614 miles returned a clean pass, continuing an unbroken pattern of zero advisories and no failures stretching back to February 2022. This represents a consistently improving or at minimum fully maintained mechanical condition across the entire visible record. Annual mileage accumulation has been moderate and remarkably steady throughout the documented period. Between February 2022 and July 2025, the vehicle covered approximately 25,852 miles, averaging roughly 7,000 to 9,000 miles per year depending on the interval measured. The jump from 75,762 miles in February 2022 to 78,940 miles by August 2022 indicates a brief period of higher use, but this normalised thereafter. At roughly 8,468 miles per year across its twelve-year life, this Touareg sits comfortably within typical parameters for a large SUV of this class. There are no suspicious mileage plateaus suggesting prolonged storage, nor any abrupt spikes indicating abnormal use patterns. A buyer should nonetheless exercise due diligence with a pre-purchase inspection, as the absence of recorded defects does not guarantee component condition. The suspension system, particularly upper and lower control arm bushes and anti-roll bar links, warrants attention given the vehicle's weight and age. Brake discs and pads should be measured for remaining thickness, and caliper operation checked for binding, a common issue on heavier SUVs that may not trigger an MOT failure until advanced. Underbody corrosion protection should be examined, particularly around subframe mounting points and suspension turrets where salt accumulation occurs. Exhaust emissions components, including the diesel particulate filter and selective catalytic reduction system, should be interrogated for active regeneration cycles and any stored fault codes not captured during the standard emissions test. Finally, tyre age and condition should be verified independently, as the clean MOT record does not reveal whether premium or budget replacements have been fitted, nor their remaining tread depth across the full width of each tyre.
