1993 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L Petrol · L524 DUE

The vehicle's overall roadworthiness remains good, as the 2024-05-02 MOT passed at 124,553 miles with no recorded defects. The maintenance trend is stable, as no new faults were flagged in the September 2023 test at 52,000 miles. However, the mileage accumulation suggests a potential accumulation of wear, particularly on the drivetrain and suspension, which may require attention before the 2026-06-18 test. The 33-year-old age of the vehicle, combined with 124,553 recorded miles, indicates a significant gap between the last MOT and the current date. While the vehicle is relatively new for its age, the mileage rate of 3,774 miles annually suggests that the mechanical components are likely approaching their end of life, especially if the previous owner had a history of skipping routine maintenance or using a high mileage range. Given the age and mileage, a buyer must inspect the mechanical condition of the suspension and brakes in person before the 2026-06-18 test. The 2024 MOT confirmed no structural defects or corrosion, but the high mileage and age raise concerns about the integrity of the chassis and the condition of the suspension bushings and coil springs. A thorough inspection of the brake discs and calipers is necessary to rule out binding issues, as the lack of a 2024 MOT suggests the brakes may have been serviced infrequently or in a way that did not meet the current safety standard.
