2007 Honda Accord 2.2L Diesel · LB07 BZW

The vehicle currently holds a roadworthy status, having passed its most recent MOT on 24 February 2025 at 168,143 miles. The maintenance trend appears stable, as the car has consistently secured passes following initial failures in the last two years. The pattern of immediate failure followed by a pass suggests that the previous owners were proactive in rectifying identified defects to ensure compliance, rather than allowing mechanical issues to persist. The mileage progression is remarkably consistent, averaging approximately 8,850 miles per year, which aligns with typical usage for a 19-year-old vehicle. The record shows 8,000 miles covered between February 2023 and February 2024, and another 11,754 miles between 2024 and early 2025. This steady accumulation indicates the car is used regularly rather than sitting stationary for long periods, which often helps prevent internal degradation of seals and corrosion of braking components. Despite the clean results of the latest test, a buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection of the chassis and suspension components. Given the vehicle's age and mileage, the inspector should look for structural corrosion on the sills and rear subframes where moisture typically accumulates. While the MOT record does not list specific defects for the 2024 and 2025 failures, the recurring need for re-testing warrants a close check of control arm bushes, coil springs, and brake lines for signs of accelerated wear or perished rubber that may have been addressed prior to the passes.
