2016 Honda CR-V 2.0L Petrol · LE16 DTO

The most recent MOT test conducted on 7 July 2026 resulted in a pass with no recorded defects or advisories. Reviewing the full MOT history from 2019 through to 2026, the vehicle demonstrates a remarkably consistent and stable maintenance trend. The absence of any failures or even minor advisories over a seven-year period suggests that the vehicle has been kept in a high state of mechanical and structural integrity, with no recorded issues regarding exhaust emissions, braking efficiency, or lighting systems. The recorded mileage of 11,822 miles is exceptionally low for a vehicle that is approximately ten years old, averaging just over 1,100 miles per annum. While this indicates minimal wear on high-friction components such as the engine internals, gearbox, and suspension bushes, such low usage often implies the vehicle has spent significant periods stationary. This pattern of use can lead to specific mechanical concerns that differ from high-mileage vehicles, particularly regarding the degradation of rubber components and the settling of fluids that are not regularly circulated through the system. Given the low mileage and the age of the vehicle, a prospective buyer must look beyond the MOT certificate and perform a thorough physical inspection. You should pay close attention to the condition of the tyres, specifically checking for sidewall cracking or perishing, as rubber degrades over time regardless of tread depth. Inspect the brake discs for heavy surface corrosion or pitting, which can occur when a vehicle sits for long periods, and listen for any binding or squealing from the calipers during your test drive. It is also advisable to check the battery health, as infrequent driving can lead to incomplete charging cycles and reduced lifespan. Furthermore, ensure that the vehicle has adhered to a time-based rather than a mileage-based service schedule. Even with low mileage, essential fluids such as engine oil, brake fluid, and coolant should be replaced at regular intervals to prevent chemical degradation and moisture contamination. During the test drive, listen for any unusual noises from the suspension or drivetrain that might suggest components have seized or dried out due to inactivity. Finally, verify the service book for evidence of consistent annual maintenance to confirm that the vehicle's longevity has been supported by proactive care rather than just luck.
