2007 Honda CR-V EX I-Ctdi 2.2L Heavy oil · LKZ 5070

The latest MOT test on 23 April 2023 resulted in a pass with no defects recorded. The overall maintenance trend appears exceptionally stable, as the vehicle has maintained a clean record without any failures or advisories dating back to 2017. This suggests a consistent approach to vehicle upkeep or a high level of mechanical resilience, although the lack of recorded advisories over several years is unusual for a vehicle of this age and suggests that many wear-and-tear items may have been replaced preventatively outside of the testing cycle. The recorded mileage of 182,099 miles over a nineteen year period equates to an average annual usage of approximately 9,584 miles. This is considered typical for a diesel utility vehicle of this vintage, indicating that the car has been used regularly rather than suffering from the detrimental effects of prolonged standing or the extreme wear associated with high-intensity commercial use. However, the cumulative mileage is significant, meaning that the drivetrain, turbocharger, and various rubber components have undergone substantial operational stress and are reaching the end of their natural design life. Given the clean MOT history, the buyer should focus on a rigorous physical inspection of high-mileage wear points that may not have triggered a formal defect. It is essential to examine the suspension bushes and coil springs for signs of fatigue, cracking, or leaking shock absorbers. During a test drive, listen for any knocking or clunking sounds from the undercarriage and feel for excessive vibration through the steering wheel, which could indicate worn wheel bearings or tracking issues. The tyre sidewalls should be inspected for perishing or age-related cracking, and the tread depth should be checked for uneven wear, which often signals failing suspension components. Mechanical verification must extend to the drivetrain and fluid integrity. The buyer should scrutinize the service history to confirm regular oil changes, which are critical for the longevity of the i-CTDi engine and its turbocharger. Inspect the engine bay and transmission for oil leaks and check the brake discs for heavy surface corrosion or binding calipers, which can occur if the vehicle has spent time stationary. Finally, the health of the 12V battery should be tested, and the buyer should verify that calendar-based fluids, such as brake fluid and coolant, have been refreshed to prevent internal system degradation and corrosion.
