2007 Citroen C8 LX HDI 120 2.0L Heavy oil · LN07 YWD

The Citroën C8 has maintained a consistent MOT pass status across all four recorded tests, with the most recent inspection on 2025-07-02 confirming no defects. This suggests the vehicle has passed all statutory checks without fail, though the absence of advisories or defects does not preclude underlying issues requiring closer scrutiny. The regularity of tests—spaced approximately 12 months apart—indicates compliance with legal requirements, but the low mileage (42,199 miles) raises questions about whether the vehicle has been stored or used lightly over its lifespan. The recorded mileage of 42,199 miles over nearly 19 years equates to an average of just 2,221 miles annually , which is unusually low for a vehicle of this age. There are no gaps in the MOT record, but the steady accumulation of such minimal mileage implies prolonged periods of inactivity, which can accelerate deterioration of fluids, seals, and elastomeric components like suspension bushes and windscreen wiper blades. The lack of higher mileage intervals means wear items such as brake pads, tyres, and exhaust systems may have been less stressed, but this also suggests potential neglect in other areas where maintenance is not mileage-dependent, such as corrosion protection or fluid changes. Given the vehicle’s age and the absence of MOT advisories, a buyer should prioritise an inspection of structural integrity , particularly around wheel arches, sills, and the underbody, where corrosion can compromise safety-critical components. The suspension—including coil springs, bushes, and dampers—should be assessed for wear or leaks, as prolonged storage can lead to rubber degradation or fluid loss. Braking systems, while not flagged in MOTs, warrant inspection for uneven pad wear, binding calipers, or corrosion on discs, especially if the vehicle has been stationary for extended periods. Finally, the exhaust system should be checked for leaks or rust holes, as emissions systems on older vehicles are prone to failure without regular use. Tyre condition, despite passing MOTs, should be verified for uneven wear or low tread depth, as the record does not confirm recent replacements.
