2006 Ford Fiesta 2.0L Petrol · LR06 KRJ

This 2006 Ford Fiesta has maintained a consistently clean MOT history, passing all five tests without any recorded defects or advisories. The most recent inspection on 28 July 2025—just under a year ago—confirmed no mechanical or structural failings, though the absence of advisories does not preclude underlying wear. The pattern suggests no escalating issues, but the lack of advisories also means critical components like suspension bushes, coil springs, or binding calipers have not been explicitly tested for degradation. Buyers should verify whether previous owners addressed common wear items such as brake pads, tyres, or corrosion between tests, as these are not MOT-mandated unless they reach failure thresholds. The recorded mileage of 49,660 miles over 20 years indicates exceptionally light usage, averaging just 2,483 miles annually. This low accumulation implies either minimal driving or prolonged periods of inactivity, which can accelerate certain forms of degradation—particularly in suspension seals, battery health, and fuel system components. Notably, there are no gaps exceeding the 12-month MOT cycle, though the irregular spacing between tests (ranging from 10 to 12 months) does not raise immediate red flags. The consistency in passing without failings could imply either diligent maintenance or deferred attention to pre-MOT repairs, but the low mileage mitigates some risks associated with higher usage. Given the clean MOT record, an in-person inspection should prioritise areas not routinely tested: the suspension’s rubber mounts and bushings for cracking or perished rubber, particularly at the rear where wear often accelerates; the brake discs and calipers for uneven wear or binding, which could indicate past neglect; and the underbody for corrosion at wheel arches, sills, and the subframe, especially if the vehicle has spent time off-road or in salted environments. Tyre age—even if tread depths are adequate—should be checked, as tyres over six years old (as of 2026) may have compromised sidewall integrity regardless of tread. Finally, verify the service history for oil changes, timing belt (if applicable), and fuel system maintenance, as these are not MOT-covered but critical to long-term reliability.
