2017 Mercedes-Benz C 2.1L Diesel · M16 BCJ

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz C presents a stable roadworthiness status. The most recent DVSA test on 16 January 2026 at 36,893 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded. Annual examinations from January 2022 through January 2026 show a consistent pattern of clean results, indicating the maintenance trend is steady rather than worsening or deteriorating. Mileage accumulation reflects light use for a nine-year-old vehicle. The odometer advanced from 16,825 miles at the 20 January 2022 test to 36,893 miles by the 16 January 2026 examination, averaging roughly 4,100 miles per year. No abrupt gaps or rapid accumulation appear in the sequence; each January test logs a modest incremental rise, with the largest yearly gain being 5,339 miles between the January 2023 test at 20,740 miles and the January 2024 test at 25,506 miles. The sparse but unbroken pass record suggests previous owners adhered to scheduled testing and likely addressed consumables before each assessment. Despite the absence of recorded advisories, a buyer should still commission a physical inspection of key mechanical areas. Low mileage combined with possible prolonged standing can conceal degraded suspension bushes, surface corrosion on structural members, or binding calipers from disuse. The tester noted no brake disc wear or exhaust emissions faults, yet visual checks of subframes, coil springs, and brake hydraulics remain prudent given the car's age. Previous keepers demonstrated basic upkeep discipline by securing five consecutive passes without mechanical flags. This pattern implies the vehicle was not subjected to neglect, though pre-purchase scrutiny of tyre sidewalls and wiper blades for perishing remains sensible due to low rotational wear.
